About Avocado Oil

Avocado Oil has been hailed by chefs, health professionals, and cosmetologists alike but is still highly underestimated by most consumers.

This oil is produced from the flesh of the avocado, which makes the oil a naturally green color.  This also means that it contains chlorophyll which brings health benefits such as a reduction in anemia, reduction in blood toxins, production of healthy red blood cells, aid to maintaining a healthy intestine and liver, and much more!

Avocado oil is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids which actually reduces the risk for coronary heart disease by reducing LDL (low density lipoprotein).  Additionally, the oil has virtually no saturated fat and no cholesterol.  Not only does this mean it's good for your heart, but it can also be good for you if you have diabetes or high cholesterol problems.  The high levels of phytosterols contribute to reducing the risk of prostate cancer (as well as other cancers).  Because avocado oil is resistant to oxidation, it also aids in preventing free radical damage, caused from harmful chemicals in the air which break down air molecules and damage your cells when you inhale them.  This also leads to avocado oil being an anti-aging compound.

Now that we've convinced you of its health benefits, it's also important to note that it is an edible oil, comparable to (but in many ways better than) olive oil.  It has a high smoking point of about 500F (much higher than olive oil's 220-375F).  The smoking point is important when considering a good oil because when any oil starts smoking, it begins burning, losing its flavor, nutrients, and sometimes breaking down into other compounds which are very harmful to your body.  Avocado oil's high smoking point means that it can be safe to cook with up to 500F without losing any of its benefits.

Because of the distinct flavor of avocado oil, it is often used as simply a dressing or an ingredient.  It is generally decided to be the best tasting of the oils with a smooth, buttery texture.  It also is a carrier for other flavors, bringing out the best in all of your favorite foods.

Not only is it good for your body and your tastes, avocado oil is also good for your hair and skin due to its high Vitamin A, D, and E content, which all lend to regeneration and retaining moisture.  Avocado oil can be used on hair and skin by itself, or combined with many cosmetic products.

Not only does avocado oil taste great, but it makes your body feel healthy and happy, allowing you to look and feel your best!  Go ahead, give it a try and see what all the professionals are talking about.
